Who are we?

Roost Racing is owned and managed by David Paton. He's been riding bikes since he was 10 years old, so knows his way around one quite well now. He's assisted when time allows, by his step father Graham who was a mechanic for Yamaha's GP team in the 70's. David's interest in racing started with road bikes as a spectator, however whilst living in Belgium he became fascinated by Supermoto. He first started racing Supermoto in 2000, when he moved back to the UK and it became a bit of a passion. Because of his limited experience in off road riding, he started to enter some Enduro's during the winter to try and improve his offroad riding skills (which he's still having to work on). A bit of history about Supermoto. Supermoto it is alleged, started it's life in France many years ago. It was adopted by the Americans who called it the Superbiker Challenge. Essentailly it was a race at the end of the normal season that would attract experts from all motorcycling diciplines, to find the ultimate "Superbiker". It kind of died out in the US, but still had a small but loyal following in France. Since then it has grown all across Europe, with the UK attempting to bring Supermoto into the spot light on many occassions since about 1985. However it's not since about 2000 that the sport has really started to take off here in the UK. In 2001 the USA again started to take an interest in Supermoto and it's now grown to what it is now. 2006 should see Supermoto take off in not only the USA, but also here in the UK, so watch this space.

David's Achievements

UK's first ever 450 Champion - Pro Supermoto Winter series 2001/2002

2003 National 2 Stroke Championship 2nd place overall - Pro Supermoto

2003 Northern 2 stroke Championship 2nd place overall - Pro Supermoto

Various class places of 1st, 2nd, 3rd with ACU Supermoto under Bemsee, Norasport Supermoto and Pro Supermoto events. Due to work commitments, results have been a bit poor in 2004 and 2005, but hopefully 2006 will see David back at a lot more rounds battling to get to the front again.
